Pic of the week: Christianshavn, Copenhagen

What:

Christianshavn Canal

Where:

Christianshavn is a beautiful neighbourhood in Copenhagen, Denmark. The canals run through this neighbourhood lined by the most gorgeous Danish houses.

When:

13 August 2016

Why:

I was lucky enough to visit the beautiful city of Copenhagen for my 31st birthday and to attend a music festival, Haven. Our decision to stay in Christianshavn was based on the fact that it was relatively near the festival, so it was a pleasant surprise to find such a lovely part of the city. Christianshavn is often associated with the controversial hippie community, but there is so much more to this location than that.

Up close the canal is actually crystal clear and you can see all the way to the surface. I had no idea that it was even possible in a city. A testimony to how clean this city is.
